Awantipora, Nov 10 (KNO): Ahead of the bye-elections for Budgam Assembly Constituency, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday exuded hope that people would vote for the National Conference candidate.
The Chief Minister, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) while talking to reporters, said that his party has worked tirelessly on the ground and expects a positive mandate from the people of Budgam.
After inaugurating community Radio Station 91.2 FM of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), CM Omar said that elections are never fought with a mindset of defeat and every political party contesting polls aspires to emerge victorious.
“No one enters an election battle thinking they will lose. We are contesting to win and we have put in all the required effort. Now, the final decision lies with the voters,” Omar said.
“We have faith in the people. They have seen our work and performance. The rest is up to them,” he added.
However, he declined to comment on the arrest of doctors and others with explosive materials.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister inaugurated community Radio Station 91.2 FM of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST). He also released the University’s Annual Report.
Omar reiterated that his government’s focus is on strengthening higher education, skilling and research. He said that the focus is aimed at empowering youth for a knowledge-driven J&K.
“Inaugurated the 20th Foundation Day of Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora. Reiterated our Government’s focus on strengthening higher education, skilling & research to empower youth for a knowledge-driven J&K. Also released the University’s Annual Report, witnessed exchange of 6 MoUs & felicitated national-level sportspersons from J&K,” Omar wrote on X—(KNO)
